Tiny tots in fundraising action
Children at a nursery in Llangollen are hoping to be among the youngest fund-raisers for this year's Child in Need.
Tyndwr Hall Day Nursery is asking all children to dress up as pirates and princesses and donate £2 to the charity on Thursday 17th November. The nursery's youngest charge, six month old Daisy will be a fairy princess for the day, while fourteen month old twin boys, Alfie & Zack will be cheeky pirates. It's hoped the fancy dress party, along with a cake stall and bring and sale will raise £100 for Children in Need.
Co-owner and manager, Emma Jones says, "we're aiming to provide a fun day for the children and raise money at the same time. It's never too early to encourage children to think about others less fortunate than themselves. Children in Need is a worthwhile and very appropriate charity for a nursery to be supporting."
Tyndwr Hall Nursery provides safe, fun child care for up to 17 children from six months old to four years old. It is located in the idyllic rural surrounds of Llangollen Youth Hostel. Its recent Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales (CSIW) report described it as "providing very good care for the children attending….All staff were observed to be warm and caring, they were seen to be continually talking to the children, praising and encouraging them."
Welcoming the visit by CSIW, co-owner, Anne Jones said "we're delighted with the report we received. All our staff work well together as a team and this was commented upon very positively by CSIW."
